Did this recently it was either an 08 or 09 model (can't imagine they would be different)

1. Turn key to Accesories (ACC) with doors shut

2. Press Info button till you reach the service counter with the spanner lit next to it.

3. Hold info button down and it will say CLEAR. Press Info button again.

4. The spanner light stays on with these particular models but it will be reset. If you are unsure, try again to see if it says CLEAR again. If not, it has been set.

You can go to your local Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc...they sell OBD II compliant diagnostic tools. A good one will cost around $120.00 (this is what I paid) All you have to do is hook up the unit with the key in the "On" position w/o the engine running (the connector should be located underneath the driverside dash...if it's NOT there, there will be a label telling you where the diagnostic port for the ECU is. You then select "Read Codes" and wait for the device to communicate with the car. Once the codes are displayed (some will also give you the definition of the code, telling you exactly why the light is on), you hit the "Clear Code(s)" button on the reader and it will reset the code(s) and the light will go out. Be careful with this, as you don't want to simply turn off the light if there is a major issue that needs immediate response (as shown by what code(s) come up. There are a lot of possible reasons that would cause the light to come on, some can be put off, some can be harmful if not fixed right away. Also, depending on the code, the light may continue to pop up at certain intervals if ignored, sometimes as early as the next time you start the car. At the least, you will know exactly what is wrong so you won't get hosed by a mechanic telling you something else.

i might genuinely bypass with the Lancer. by no potential been prepared on Civics.. yet it is only in accordance with potential and seems. Civics do have extra valuable gas mileage nevertheless.. the fee is relating to an identical so that is all opinion, can't fairly help you there. so a approaches as reliability, hondas are geared up to final. So, once you're only searching for a automobile with stable millage and a competent automobile which will final for an prolonged time, bypass with the civic.

The following steps are what I used to clear the service indicator on my 09 Lancer Ralliart. It is probably the same for the other models as well.

Turn off ignition completely

Close driver's door

Press info button

Go to maintenance option and hold info to access

Repeatedly press info until clear displays

Hold info to clear maintenance timer and done!
