So I am a college student, I am looking for a used car, I love Mitsubishi eclipse
However, my dad said Mitsubishi is not a good car, it will have a lot of issue if I buy it; and I will have a hard time to find part, except dealer.
So, I wanna know that it is true or not, will I easily find part in other place? Any car model suggestions are welcome
thanks!

I had one, put 150,000 miles on it before I sold it. Regular maintenance, minimal issues. Would buy another for the right price. But maintenance is key. If you keep up with it, it will run forever, but if you don't, you'll be on the side of the road in no time.

For a daily, go for a 2000+ model. They are almost impossible to steal, if you have a problem with that, get out of the ghetto.

My mom had a 1997 and a 2001, both of them ran horribly and eventually crapped out on her. They were used, but we have been told they are more showy cars than durable.

Also, she had lots of people try to steal it. I would highly suggest something less flashy, because Eclipses are sought out by chop shops.

My '03 Eclipse GS has 135,000 miles and is still running strong and rarely needs any repairs.

A girlfriend of mine got about 220,000 miles out of her '01 Eclipse GS until the engine finally blew.
