I'm in big dog dookie. The car would have a strange noise coming under the rear seat for a second or two after I started it (only occasionally). When this happens it will idle oddly. Besides that it runs strong, transmission and engine. I run synthetic oil always and for the most part run 87 with fuel additive. Today this happened, but idled so low the car shut off. I don't know what to suspect. Only thing under the rear of the car dealing with engine start is the fuel tank and the feul pump. If anyone has ideas please let me know!

There was a bulletin about the fuel pump making noise and I believe there was a modified pump housing which was replaced as the whole fuel pump assembly under the warranty period.

None of that concern had anything to do with the vehicle operation, only noise.

If your car fails to start, you will need to try hitting the gas tank under the car or hitting the fuel pump under the back seat after removing the access cover, use a hammer or 2x4. That may start the pump if it is failing. Have someone crank the motor while you are hitting one of the 2 areas.

If there is no engine waring light for codes your problem will be fuel related. A warbling chirping noise is the pump.

Yeah this sounds like your throwout bearing going undesirable. The section is comparatively decrease priced, yet youll could desire to drop the trans to get to it, no small interest by skill of any skill. The bearing could run below $a hundred, however the hard artwork would be severe in case you cant do it your self. many times those are replaced with any grasp for that reason, theyre much less costly adequate that its worth it to keep your self the aptitude hassle of having to drag it aside returned. once you push on your grasp it is going away via fact the shift fork is putting tension on it, making it tight adequate that it cant rattle like that. Get it appeared at quickly.

It could be something with your fuel injectors...........that sort of happened to my 2000 eclipse and that's what the problem was. :-)
